Cheetos x Thing

Cheetos|Goodby Silverstein & Partners

There's a cultural truth buried in every bag of Cheetos: the orange dust on your fingers is simultaneously the product's greatest liability and its most beloved feature. Cheetos x Thing, developed by Goodby Silverstein & Partners, leans into this tension by pairing the brand with Thing — the disembodied hand from the Addams Family universe — a character whose entire identity is defined by what fingers can do. The casting is conceptually airtight: a hand famous for its dexterity, now coated in Cheetle, rendered hilariously useless for anything requiring a clean touch. The execution plays the absurdist logic straight, which is the only way this kind of brand comedy works — the moment it winks too hard, it collapses. What separates this from standard celebrity-IP co-branding is the specificity of the match. This isn't a famous property slapped on a pack shot. The creative premise is native to what makes Cheetos culturally distinct — the mess, the commitment, the unapologetic surrender to snacking — embodied by a character for whom hands are literally everything. Goodby Silverstein & Partners continue to demonstrate that the Cheetos brand voice is one of the most consistently crafted in the snack category: self-aware without being smug, weird without being alienating.
